Rain-dancing

Yesterday was another beautiful thunderstorm. I sat on the screen porch and played guitar while lightening struck the field across from the house.

I never want to be too old to go dance in the rain; those moments of torrential downpour that leave one soaked in mere seconds…those are meant for for joy. There are times when I might be caught out, without the imminent promise of shelter, but for now, I know that I have dry clothes waiting under a secure roof.

I am so unspeakably grateful for that, and so I try to always remember: It’s okay to get a little bit wet. Eventually I’ll dry off, and by then it probably won’t be raining anymore.
