A Flower Walk

There is a wall of fushia along the fenceline here. It’s taken me nearly a fortnight to find someone who has known what kind of plant is flowering, but apparently it’s bougainvillea, which is apparently named for the town it was bred in, “Bougainville”.

This is particularly funny here in Australia where the term “Bogan” means…essentially “country hick/white trash”.

So, these flowers

being named after “Hicksville”.

It’s just pretty awesome.

Also, we have Frangipani trees everywhere. Frangipani smell *amazing*, and we’re just…walking all over them. It’s incredible.
