Dear Google, WTF.

Upon doing my research I find out that my troubles getting my computer to communicate with my mobile are not actually something that I’m doing wrong and are, in fact, built in to the operating system.

Now. All of my tech currently runs on operating systems built by Google.

Google who is supposed to be cool, and intuitive, and *helpful* with technology stuff.

WHAT THE FUCK GOOGLE. WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS.

Why would you ever design products that can’t engage with each other in this day and age?

If I want to be able to dump 5 gigs of music onto my phone, I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO THAT.

In conclusion.

Thus concludes my fortnight trial of using the operating system my laptop came with.

FUCK YOU GOOGLE.

  1. Google actually added MTP support in the most recent beta channel for Chrome OS. Please note that google is trying to provide a good experience, but all of these projects are fairly recent and are still continuously receiving updates.

That said, Linux is great (I’m on Arch right now) and if I ever had a Chromebook, I’d put Arch on it immediately.

    • Oh, man. I’m so hesitant to go for arch because I keep moving to places with little to no connectivity. (Like the Australian Outback. Or a sailboat.) I feel like a rolling release would be a really bad fit for my life.

That being said, It’s good to hear that Google is fixing stuff. I really *want* to trust Google. (Even if only because Google probably knows…*everything* about me. And pretty much everybody else, too…) 😛
